Black Male Outreach and Education (BMORE) fosters the growth, development, and success of black male students in Durham Public Schools (DPS) and Duke University. BMORE works to strengthen the bonds between, and ensure the academic success of, black men at Duke. We do so through active programming that focuses on academic, career, and social enrichment vital to a wholesome Duke experience. In Durham Public Schools, we tutor and mentor young black male students who are deemed to be “on the cusp.” We intend to inspire the students and elevate their aspirations through educational, health, social, and artistic events. Don’t hesitate to come to one, two, or all of our events! For more information please contact either Ade Sawyer (ade.sawyer@duke.edu) or Eskinder Zewdu (eskinder.zewdu@duke.edu).
